Remote Rockbreaker monitoring - RD Guard™

Rammer RD Guard remote monitoring device

Remote monitoring leads to cost reductions

Having real-time data and detailed information about the rockbreaking operation on-hand is tried and tested way to cut downtime, proactively maintain equipment to avoid costly repairs and to improve the overall efficiency of operation. Rammer, the leading supplier of smart rockbreaker technology, was the first on the market to add remote monitoring system for hydraulic rockbreakers in 2019. This year Rammer has introduced RD Guard™, the successor to the legacy RD3 device, offering improved protection, greater accessibility and enhanced reporting through the SAM Platform.

When fitted to a Rammer rockbreaker, RD Guard™ automatically tracks work hours, impact periods, service intervals, GPS location and more. Data is seamlessly transferred to SAM via 5G, allowing operators and site managers to access fleet information anytime, anywhere – through mobile devices or desktop.

Remotely Track

With RD Guard™ you know exactly where your equipment is and how it is being operated.

Access 24/7

All the real-time data* is accessible 24/7 by logging into the SAM.

Analyse data

Based on the data you can plan maintenance programs during times of least impact on production.

Operator Education

By using advanced electronics to sense the impacts and stresses on the rockbreaker, RD Guard™ provides information on how the rockbreaker is being operated.  One of the major causes of premature failure in rockbreakers is long cycles where the operator continues to hit the button and the piston keeps striking for an extended period of time.

With RD Guard™, customers can remotely monitor rockbreaker usage and provide operator education when needed to avoid maintenance costs due to premature failure. Correct operation minimizes the chance that rockbreaker fails and causes costly unscheduled downtime.

Preventative maintenance

Simply by logging into the SAM platform, customers can see all the data on operating hours and required service intervals helping them manage service periods and minimize machinery downtime by scheduling maintenance during times of least impact on production. With downtime planned at optimal times based on the data of rockbreaker usage, maintenance programs can be streamlined to improve efficiency and reduce costs.

The hour meter shows the total time the rockbreaker has been engaged in rockbreaking that is useful information when determining the re-sale value of the rockbreaker as the actual work hours are known.

RD Guard™ is compatible with most Rammer rockbreakers currently in use and is designed with forward compatibility in mind, ensuring readiness for future software updates and feature enhancements.

With data on service records and total operating hours, owners can assess equipment longevity and protect resale value by providing verifiable service histories.
